“Remove not the ancient landmarks, which thy fathers have set.”
Proverbs 22:28
“…But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of
Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine,
neither ye,
nor sons forever: Neither shall you build house, nor sow seed,
nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents;
that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers. Thus
have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all
that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives,
our sons, nor or daughters…”Jeremiah 35: 1-10
“it is better to joyfully eat the palm kernel given to you by your fathers
or ancestors than to eat the maggot-infested good looking meal of the
aliens that has a regrettable end in the stomach “Tchr Essien
Amazing! The landmarks of the sons and daughters of Jonadab, son of
Rechab seem to be landmarks of perpetual poverty yet they faithfully
obeyed them to the very last letter.
How can anyone not build a good house for himself, how can anyone not
farm and how can anyone not enjoy the God giving liquor for pleasure?
Even Jesus did enjoy it (Matthew 11:19) and even Yahweh enjoyed it
(Number 28:7).
Why will Rechab put this type of landmark for his descendants? It does not
matter to you, does it? Have you been able to keep the landmarks laid down
by your ancestors?
Because the truth remains that, blessings fully come to us from the Creator
through our ancestral passage, when we can respect and remove not the
landmarks laid down by our ancestors.
Not removing the ancient landmarks laid down by our ancestors is the only
high-class way of respecting our ancestors. The Jews respected the
landmarks laid down by their ancestors like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Their ancestors are referenced in their prayers and the alienated Africans
also foolishly reference the ancestors of the Jews in their prayers as if they
knew anything about them.
